Atarax Drug Uses
Before you buy Atarax you should know it is used for symptomatic relief of anxiety and tension associated
with psychoneurosis and as an adjunct in organic disease states in which
anxiety is manifested. It is an antihistamine used in the relief of the symptoms of common anxiety and tension
in addition, combined with other medications, it is used to treat anxiety
resulting from physical illness. It also brings relief from itching due to allergic reactions and
may be used as a sedative prior to and after general anesthesia. Antihistamines work by decreasing the effects of histamine, a chemical the body releases that narrows air passages in the lungs and contributes to inflammation. Antihistamines reduce itching and swelling and dry up secretions from the nose, eyes, and throat.
How To Take Atarax
For adults, Atarax 50-100 mg daily; for children under 6 years, 50 mg of Atarax daily in divided doses and over 6 years, 50-100 mg
of Atarax daily in divided doses.
Warnings/Precautions
It is not known whether Atarax is excreted in human milk. Since many drugs are excreted, you should use caution if taking Atarax while pregnant.
Studies in pregnant women have not yet been studied however, studies on animals have shown that
it induces fetal abnormalities in pregnant mice, rabbits and other animals. It's not known whether the contents of
this drug are passed through human milk. Consult your doctor first prior to breast feeding.
Drowsiness may be caused when taking this drug and activities such as driving
and/or operating machinery should be avoided.
Patients are also not advised to repeatedly take CNS depressant drug such as this
one.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose of Atarax, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose
of Atarax, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose
of Atarax to catch up.
Possible Side Effects Of Atarax
Before you buy Atarax you should know that the side effects you may experience on this drug are usually mild and transitory in nature: dry mouth, drowsiness.
Storage
Once you buy Atarax store it in a cool, dry place. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
Overdose
The most common manifestation of Atarax overdosage is hypersedation. Seek emergency medical attention if an overdose
of Atarax is suspected.
